Phase 1: Immediate Protection & Absorption (Days 1-2)
The first 24-48 hours are essential for managing plasma and excess ink. We use sterile, highly absorbent solutions to minimize irritation and promote a clean start.
Absorbent Pads (Sterile & Non-Sterile)
- Purpose: These cotton pads absorb exudate (weeping), keeping the fresh tattoo clean and dry.
- How We Use: A pad is applied immediately post-tattoo and secured with Dermalize Protective Film or kitchen foil.
- Key Feature: Individually wrapped and sterilized for maximum hygiene, significantly reducing irritation on the delicate new wound.
Dermalize Protective Film (Second Skin)
- Purpose: The thin, self-adhesive, breathable film acts as a second skin, providing an antibacterial, waterproof barrier against contaminants.
- Application: Applied directly over the clean tattoo (and sometimes over the absorbent pad for the first 24 hours).
- Removal (The Gentle Way): Remove under warm, running water (like a shower). Stretch the film horizontallyand parallel to the skin to break the adhesive bond—do not peel upwards.
- Duration: The first piece is removed within 24 hours. Subsequent pieces can be worn for up to 6-7 days total, changing them if they become loose or dirty.
Phase 2: Cleaning and Hydration (During & After Healing)
Once the film is removed and the tattoo is dry, the focus shifts to gentle cleansing and intensive hydration using Dermalize’s specialized Artcare line.
